TRIUMPH AT SAN JACINTO: A TEXAS VICTORY

On April 21, 1836, Texan forces defeated the Mexican army in a decisive battle at San Jacinto. Commanded by General Sam Houston, the Texans fought with remarkable courage and determination against General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna's larger force. The quick Texan attack caught the Mexicans unprepared, resulting in a total victory for the Texans.
